I am a UK-based photographer working primarily within landscape, with a focus on atmosphere, space, and the subtle traces of human presence, often defined through their absence.
My practice is rooted in environments that offer a sense of stillness and introspection. I am particularly drawn to the desert regions of the American West and remote landscapes such as Iceland, where scale, isolation, and elemental forces shape both the land and the experience of moving through it.
Through an emphasis on colour, negative space, and restrained composition, my work explores the emotional weight of landscape, particularly within terrains that are sparse, weathered, or seemingly uninhabited. These locations, though quiet, hold a distinct presence.
Although many of these landscapes are geographically distant, the work remains deeply personal. It is informed by my own relationship with landscape, memory, and belonging. The photographs draw on childhood experiences of exploring open spaces and the emotions those environments fostered: curiosity, isolation, freedom, and a sense of security.
I have long been drawn to landscapes as places of reflection and refuge, offering space to consider questions of identity and resilience. In this sense, the work is concerned not only with the physical character of a place, but also with the ways landscapes shape our emotional lives and understanding of ourselves.
